Terms of Service

These Terms of Service (the "Terms") set out the conditions for using the speedcubing app CubeNook (the "App") and its website (cubenook.xyz; the "Website") provided by HyuCode (the "Operator"). By downloading or using the App, you agree to these Terms.

1. About the App

The App helps you learn, practice and track algorithms for the CFOP method of solving the Rubik's Cube. It is free and shows ads. If you obtained the App from the App Store, Apple's Standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement (EULA) also applies.

2. Prohibited conduct

You must not:

• Act against the law or public order and morals
• Modify, reverse engineer, decompile or disassemble the App, except where the law permits
• Access the App, the Website or related servers without authorization, place excessive load on them, or interfere with their operation
• Infringe the rights of the Operator or any third party

3. Intellectual property

Rights in the programs, designs, images and text of the App and the Website belong to the Operator or their rightful owners. Cube algorithms themselves (sequences of move notation) are common knowledge, and the Operator claims no exclusive rights to them. Licenses of the open-source software used by the App are shown in the App's settings.

Rubik's Cube is a trademark of Spin Master Ltd. GAN is a trademark of GAN Cube. The App is not affiliated with or endorsed by these companies.

4. Ads

The App shows ads through Google AdMob. Advertisers are responsible for the content of their ads. The Operator is not involved in any transaction on sites or services you reach from an ad.

5. Smart cubes

Smart cube features work only with supported models. Depending on the cube's firmware, your device's OS or the Bluetooth connection, the App may fail to connect or to detect turns correctly.

6. Disclaimer

• The Operator does not guarantee that the App's content, including algorithms and record calculations, is accurate, complete or fit for a particular purpose.
• The App stores information on your device. The Operator cannot restore information lost through device failure or loss, deletion of the App, or similar causes.
• The Operator is not liable for damages arising from your use of, or inability to use, the App, except where caused by the Operator's intent or gross negligence.

7. Changes, suspension and termination

The Operator may change the App or the Website, or suspend or end them, without prior notice.

8. Changes to these Terms

The Operator may change these Terms when necessary. In that case, the changes and the date they take effect will be posted on this page. If you use the App on or after that date, you are deemed to agree to the updated Terms.

9. Governing law and jurisdiction

These Terms are governed by the laws of Japan. The district court with jurisdiction over the Operator's location has exclusive jurisdiction in the first instance over any dispute concerning the App or these Terms.
