Account Deletion

This page explains how to delete your CubeNook (operated by HyuCode) account and the records saved online. Accounts are registered by signing in with Apple or Google in the iOS or Android app.

1. Delete in the app

  1. Open CubeNook and go to My page.
  2. Open Profile.
  3. Tap Delete account, then sign in again with the same method you registered with to confirm it is you.

Deletion usually completes within a few minutes and the app shows when it is done. If the connection drops, reopening the app resumes the deletion.

2. If you cannot use the app

If you cannot delete from the app, for example because you no longer have the device, email seiichiro.tanaka@hyucode.com with the subject "Account deletion" and tell us the sign-in method you used (Apple or Google). Please send it from the email address you registered. If you cannot, for example because you chose Hide My Email with Apple, we will contact that address to confirm. After confirming it is you, we will delete the account within 30 days and let you know.

3. Data that is deleted

  • Your profile (display name, avatar, country or region)
  • Learning status, algorithms, practice, times, reviews and lesson progress saved online
  • Your Firebase Authentication account (email address and sign-in identifier)
  • If you signed in with Apple, the connection between CubeNook and your Apple Account
  • That account's records stored on your device

4. Information that remains, and for how long

  • To reject late requests from the deleted account, the server keeps an irreversible identifier (hash) and the deletion time. It contains no name, email address or records.
  • Backups kept for recovery from failures retain data from before the deletion for up to 30 days, after which it is erased automatically.
  • Records saved on your device as a guest remain. They are erased when you delete the app.
  • Information sent to external services for ads, usage analysis and bug investigation is not linked to your account and is not covered by this deletion. See the Privacy Policy for details.
